I remember a presentation at one of the London WikiWednesdays that was about a MediaWiki plugin that would work in a similar fashion (i.e. track the origin of words, and color-mark them). The 'revolutionary' adjective is a bit overblown. By the way did you try the demo version? I was not able to get into that tracking feature.
